What's the plan? New rod & main bearings? Might want to fully disassemble and blow compressed air through the oil passages to make sure there's no residual metal/plastic bits hiding out in there. Also maybe disassemble and clean the oil pump to ensure no detritus is lurking there as well.Comment

Gonna need at least one new/used rod too. What's the plan? New rod & main bearings? Crank and piston rod, along with bolts and bearings are on the way. Going to try and reuse the crank bearings as they are all in good shape, as well as the rod bearings in the other three cylinders. I'll check clearances with platigage first.
I had already rebuilt the oil/water pump after this happened when I noticed what looked like coolant in the oil.
Good idea about blowing air through.Current Bikes:

Yes it did. And will will again. Crank is in and crank case halves back together. Bottom end is back together except for oil pan. Waiting on gaskets. Clutch is in and buttoned up. Making progress.Current Bikes:

The crank and rod bearings are color coded for selective fitting. Do you have a factory manual for your bike and have you checked the codes?Ed

I never remember seeing this problem on an old roller bearing crankshaft. Probably why I'm still liking them.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100Comment
