Trying to locate 2.50mm valve shims...

Finally getting close to starting the engine on my '83 GS650GLD. However, I need to find a couple of 2.50mm thick 29.5mm dia. shims to set the valves. Been looking at Z1, Revzilla, BikeBandit, ebay, you name it. Nobody seems to have 2.50 shims. Anybody have a top-level source? Thanks in advance - Chris

You might check with Cycle Recycle II here in Indy:
Valve Shims for Bikes in CRC2's Online Catalog of New motorcycle Parts and Accessories Indy

They keep a large selection of K&L shims in stock. Of course, I have no idea whether they actually have 2.50 shims at the moment.

The website doesn't reflect inventory, so you should probably call. Be patient; they get a LOT of calls.

There is a shim club as Nessism mentions above. Not 100% what Ray has at the moment or whether he is still processing them. (He machines the old ones down as we're all needing thinner ones these days).
