    81 GSX 1100 sidecover emblems

I saw a set of European GS1100 sidecover emblems, they have the GSX in big letters with the DOHC 16 valves above and 1100 below. About $42 each from OZ but for some reason they look cool to me. Hardly a noticable difference to a non-Suzuki guy and would end up around a C note to get them here plus getting robbed by the tariff people. I probably will leave it alone for now but maybe Santa will read this and remember how good I've been all year.

Have always wondered why we got GS's and most everybody else seemed to get GSX's... If I see Santa, I'll sure drop him a hint... Good Luck, and think they would look noticeable different.

For almost 40 years I've lusted after a GSX-R1100. But the way I see it, I only missed by one letter. (As soon as I ride over the border, my GS1100E becomes a GSX-1100. And what's one R between friends?)

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Yeap, certainly some strange goings on back in the early 1980's regarding the "GSX" Suzuki badges. Seems every other market got the GSX badges but not the USA. There were a few stories making the rounds at the time for the why no "GSX" however, there is sure to be someone here who knows the real reason however odd that it seems.

It wasn't just Suzuki badges with an "X" that received attention, Some States did not permit the factory shark fins to be fitted to the original Katana models when they were released, a decision that impacted a major style element. Again, there was more than one story getting around as to why the fins were deleted. The good news is fins are a plug and play and are an easy part to install.

I think it had something to do with the Buick Grand National GSX a few years earlier. Buick may have still had a copyright.
