I think hand signals are way the heck more noticable.

That may be debatable at night. I use hand signals and the stock blinkers.

In most states it is illegal to ride on public roads without turn signals if the bike came with them from the factory. I've seen cops pull motorcyclists over for having flashers that are only as far apart as the width of the seat.

Most young people today (under 40) do not know what hand signals mean. In addition, removing a hand from the bars for every turn, lane change and stop just isn't safe.

Finally, hand signals are worthless except during the day.

He's in Minnesota. He doesn't need to have signals regardless of when it was manufactured.

In all honesty blinkers much like a horn are for after the fact, at least around here.

If you have a gap to your left and put on your blinker, wait a second, then go you WILL hit someone.

Do your own checks, if there is room go. I use the blinker as I turn not before.

we have a saying in Boston, using your blinker is giving away your plan to the enemy. People will take offense to you wanting to go in front of them and will gas it to close the opening before you move.
