    Will '81 GS850G side cover fit '80?

Hello all. This is my first post here but I've already found a ton of information by searching around. I recently purchased a 1980 GS850GT (story and pics to come) with no side covers. I have a chance to purchase side covers from a 1981 GS850G and am wondering if they will fit and also are the side emblems the same or is there one specific for my GT? Not too worried about the emblems just curious...mainly want some side covers. Thanks in advance.

I believe the covers will interchange although I'm not sure about color or the emblems. You might want to check the part numbers to see if they are the same, or in the same supercession chain (which means they will interchange). Painted parts have a color code suffix so keep that in mind. http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

The side covers will fit fine. The colors available may have been different, but any GS850G or 1000G (not GL) sidecovers will interchange 1979-81.

      The 80 & 81 badges say GS850G, and I believe the '79 badges just say GS850.
