Do you dilute Evaporust with water in the trash can? If so, to what ratio? I have used Evaporust for small parts and it would be great to dilute it in a trash can for larger items.Best stuff I've found that won't hurt the chrome is EvapoRust. It's expensive though. Second best stuff is oxalic acid. Most deck cleaning products are oxalic acid. I was turned on to this stuff by the bicycle restoration guys, who swear by the stuff. Fill a garbage can with water and mix in some of the cleaning product and dunk your part. In a day or two the rust will be gone and the chrome won't be damaged. I've done all kinds of parts in this stuff and it works a treat. Good stuff.Comment

Full strength. I have never seen anything in the directions about diluting it.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.Comment

Sorry for the confusion, but you fill a trash can with water and then mix in the oxalic acid (deck cleaner). Can't remember the exact ratio, so check google and you will find some good info. http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=351132Ed

Not sure about your turn signals but mine are plastic with some sort of chrome looking plating. AFAICT Plastic won't rust
