Problems with Carb jetting
I recently purchased a 1982 gs 1100ez. It has a vanz and hinz 4 into 1 with a stock airbox. it has 114 main jets at the moment. its backfiring on deacceleration and has a dead spot in acceleration up to about 60 mph. any ideas on what to do to this? I did not tear down the carbs, they are very clean in the bowls.Tags: None

So you have a DJ kit installed? The 114 is a Dynojet number.
Get rid of that 114 and install a 120 mikuni. Put the DJ needle on the third from the bottom.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
