    carb slide mod question

    Hey guys,
Here's a question I have. When you purchase a Dynojet jet kit, they usually recommend you enlarge the dia. of the slide lift holes. Does this mod result in the slides lifting quicker/sooner or does it delay the lift ? The reason i'm asking is I can't get my GSXR to rev out. The carbs are perfectly clean, the bike starts perfect buy has a hanging idle then drops and almost stalls. I have reverted back to bone stock jetting, but the carb slides have been drill modded. I'm wondering if I should put the stage 1 jet kit back in. (My GSXR has a stock airbox and exhaust) Thanks !

drilling the slides does cause them to react faster, but it sounds to me like you're dealing with a synchronization problem for starters. Stage 1 jetting is appropriate for airbox and a stock muffler, stage 3 is for no airbox.

Hanging idle is typically a sign of an air leak or lean pilot screw setting. I'm not familar with those carbs but I'd try opening the screws more.

on the DJ st.3 kit...for 36mm and 38mm GSXR carbs you do not make the slide lift holes larger..
the kits come with nylon threaded reducers to make the holes smaller.
i just seen in your sig that you have an 87 GSXR...never mind

These slides chatter and wear the emulsion tubes and needles.
posplayr is working on a fix for it.
