So, someone gave me a mercury Motion Pro carb synch tool, without the adapters or actually anything to attach them to the carbs.
The tool sat for a few months but I finally got around to ordered the adapters I needed. Went out to get things ready and, wow, all the mercury was gone!
Somehow, the little tube in back that's supposed to keep all that nasty stuff inside had popped loose and the mercury must have spilled out. I couldn't find it.
Anyway, looked around quite a bit and found few places selling mercury replacement vials. One I found had vials for $30 each.
But, I've read alot on this board about the wonders of the Morgan Carbtune. I'm thinking of just putting that $30 bucks towards the purchase of the Morgan.
Unless there's any sort of alternative fluid I can put in this tool in lieu of mercury.
I'm probably a month away from having $100 to spare for the Morgan. In the meantime, other than the bench synch I gave my carbs last week while cleaning them, is there anything I can do without a tool that will get a better synchronization? The bike is popping a little when it's cold in the morning, and I thought that might be because my carbs aren't synched just right.
I thought I'd read that you could adjust them just by adjusting the idle carb by carb. Or did I read that wrong?
