    Air Box Connector Hose Sourcing

Hello all, I am a newbie that just bought a 78 gs1000 just like the one I owned back in the 80's but in much worse condition.

Does anyone know a good place to buy the air cleaner connector hose at a reasonable price?

(the one between the air box and air filter box)

... or do I just go to auto an auto parts store and match up radiator type hoses?

I checked out Z1 that is recommended as a parts source, but they don't carry everything.

Is there a go-to online resource that is usually the best price and has most gs1000 parts?

I use boulevard suzuki and have used Babbits, they both have good pricing as far as I have seen. Intake boots are about 25 dollars each for my bikes. Good deal compared to e bay. Those losers try to sell you rotten rubber for more than that. Good luck

This hose is an oddball size, and your best option is to just buy OEM hose from your favorite source for Suzuki parts -- partshark.com is a good one, and there are many others mentioned above and at BassCliff's site. You'll get a hunk long enough to make two.

You can certainly try and find hose at an auto parts store and it will work fine, but it will be very bulky compared to the original and somewhat inconvenient. IIRC, 3/8" hose is somewhat loose.

I am pretty sure that I have a spare hose and both clamps.
I would be willing to let them go for $20.00 with shipping if interested.

Go to Home Depot- plumbing section- you will find exactly what you need for 5$
Rubber connector, with two hose clamps and the perfect size.

Brian, I think he is asking about the hose between the filter box and the manifold, not the one from the valve cover breather to the manifold.

I don't know the diameter of that hose, but it's about 2" or so.

I agree with your thoughts on the breather hose, though. That is an 11mm hose. 3/8" would be too tight, 7/16" (if you can find it) will be a little loose, but will work with a clamp. If you get the OEM tubing, you will get about six feet of it, which will give more than two rations, it will actually do five or six.

He may not have gotten a mega welcome with Cliff tied up with his father-in-laws passing.
But I think what you're asking for is commonly referred to as a "snorkel," the piece which connects the airbox to the air cleaner box.

                      Thanks Everyone

I am talking about the hose between the plastic breather box and the plastic air filter box.

I think $5 at homedepot sounds good if I can find something the right diameter (2 3/8 " ).... and thin walled enough to get it to "squoosh" in there.

I will also go to partshark.com as suggested and hopefully they have a microfisch section so I can locate the part # and order.

                            Or, take my offer.

Thanks Scoobie, I already ordered number 11, and am going to see how snug it is before I spend $12 on OEM clamps.
