need aftermarket throttle and clutch cables
does anyone know of a company that will (for a decent price) make clutch and throttle cables. im going to installing clip on bars on my project and will need the cables to be much shorter. also is there a way to shorten them my self. im thinking i might get newer handle bar levers and master cylinder off a sport bike, so i might, if i can use the cables that go with those.

If custom cables are too expensive, use the old cables to figure out what length you need, then order something from Z1 that comes close to it.Originally posted by byegge View Postdoes anyone know of a company that will (for a decent price) make clutch and throttle cables. im going to installing clip on bars on my project and will need the cables to be much shorter. also is there a way to shorten them my self. im thinking i might get newer handle bar levers and master cylinder off a sport bike, so i might, if i can use the cables that go with those.

I had a similar problem with my fabbed handlebars. On a tip I received here, on GSR, I used the clutch cable from a GS1000S (flat). Solved my issue, that model came with an old skool superbike style bar and was a good little bit shorter than the highway (neutral) bars fit to most models.

thanks, ill look into that. the bars on this bike are like mini ape hangers. i think if i rerouted them they would loop up about a foot over the head light.Originally posted by matt1100 View PostI had a similar problem with my fabbed handlebars. Try to stay with OEM clutch cables, they are beefer then aftermarkets. Hopefully you can fine a factory one that will suit your needs.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002
