Alot of people have used it but consensus say's the better product is POR15 , as I understand there have been some bad experiences with the KREEM. I personally don't like to use a tank sealer if possible, but when I do I use the POR15 and make sure you follow the directions to the letter. -
Cleaning up the rust and acid etching prep are really important

Hit up Home Depot and buy some "Metal Prep" (phosphoric acid). Make some plugs and dump in the sauce. Rotate the tank every 5 mins. for an hour or so until the rust is gone. Save the solution and rinse the tank with water. There may be a little flash rust form but don't worry about it. Get some gas in there as soon as possible, including a little bit to use as a washout for the water. This should work unless you have heavy rust. If so, use the same sauce but seal the tank after you derust it.Ed

All my tanks get Por15... In fact, I just finished doing one about an hour ago... The only drawback is that it needs to cure for 96 hours before you can use it. Now I can't ride until Sunday

Clean the rust out, keep gas in it, liners are not necessary unless you plan on letting your bike sit for months.Comment

Bought a Skunk (pre-CL/eBay) one day the owner had Kreemed while petcock still on and set to prime. He could not figure why fuel starvation.
No offense to others but he lived on the Kent East hill. (Non-locals can YouTube Almost Live episodes :'Kent')
Now THAT was a carb to clean!
Still sitting on display with the float bowl off!

If it were mine, I wouldn't bother with tank liner over a little bit of rust. Rust is easily (and cheaply) removed with vinegar or electrolysis. After treatment, rinse the tank with gas or kerosene and you're good to go.Comment

Kreem is krap.
It failed for me, and I've seen it fail for others.
The kits from Por15 and Caswells are widely known to work well.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

Kreem was ok until they started putting alcohol in the gas. I would stay far away from it now.Comment

I use electrolysis. I turned a microwave transformer into a 20vdc power supply and attach it to a mild steel welding electrode. It cleans the tank over night.Comment
