1980 Gs850 exhaust question

Hello all I just bought a Gs850 1980 model but i need an exhaust headers an all but im on a budget lol there is several 750 and 1000 gs on Craigslist and i have been told that those exhaust systems will fit. Does anyone know for sure? thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure, but I would check the microfiche from an online OEM parts supplier and see if the part numbers are the same

The OEM numbers are not the same, but the 750 pipes will fit the head, you may have to make some kind of a bracket to hold the back of the pipe up. On the 1000 the ports are the same, but the bolt spacing is a hair wider.

I have a similar question. I have an '80 550L and found an OEM exhaust system from an '81 550T. Not sure where to look to see if they will fit. Anyone know where I can find this information?
