carb dip in toronto

Hi so I'm hearing that carb dip is hard to come by in canada. My parts guy didn't have it though I got the spray cleaner.
Any canucks know what's available here for dipping carbs and where to get it?

Nothing good. I bring back Berrymans every time I cross the border. Guys have had success with different boiling concoctions but nothing is as good as Berrymans to get into the guts of the carbs.

I just got a gallon of the Berryman's stuff, haven't even used it....

Prior to that I used the PinSol method and my carbs came out very nice and clean...

you've heard wrong,
Kleenflo and Permatex sell a dip in canada (at least here in alberta). its not cheap though. 5 gallons of the permatex, with a dipping basket is about $200. Kleen flo stuff is cheaper and just as good, but it (kleen flo) doesn't seem to be as effective after a couple of years.
It comes in smaller quantities than 5 gal, but do not put it in a container other than the one it is sold in, it will eat right through a regular steel bucket in about a month.
Do not get it on your skin. And it sure stinks, and the smell will stay with you for quite sometime.....weeks.

Napa and CARQUEST each have product but not all stores carry them/ They should be able to order. I believe they are both around $50 for 4 liters.

The pine sol solution also works but I'm still more of a fan of the "proper" carb dips.

Kleen Flo product looks like it might work well, read the MSDS, lots of nasty chemicals including methylene chloride, benzene etc.
Where are you buying it Derwood? (I'm over in BC)

one bottle of PinSol 1 litre and the rest is hot water in a 20 litre bucket I put the carbs in first then the PineSol then the hot water, agitate when you can, get a baby bottle brush to scrub the nooks and crannies and let it soak for about 24 hours, rinse in hot water, and hope for the best...

I ended up buying a small sonic cleaner with a gallon of water based carb dip concentrate. Does an amazing job. 15% solution and 85% water. The sonic cleaner does a better job. I did mine over and was amazed at what came out of them after half an hour.

I'll mull it over. Fallback is pinesol/water dip and spray carb cleaner after. I'm waiting for o rings so I've got a few days to decide.

So they're now over 8 hours sitting in 1 part pine sol, 4 parts hot water.

There is one passage that blew clear on one carb but seemed blocked on all three of the others. I'm having trouble finding clear pictures on where that hole leads and what it's for. Anyone shed any light?

It's the one I"m pointing to with my yellow glove.

Poked around and thought a bit and figured these holes, 2 on each carb are for air passage, but only 4 are clear, the two joining carbs 1 and 2 and the 2 joining carbs 3 and 4. The ones that should be clear are clear, the others blocked as they should be.
