BS36 carbs
I picked up a 82 GS1100e for close to nothing. It has the BS36 carbs on it. Is there really an advantage to running those? I?m no motorcycle pro mechanic, but I assume the 4v motor would have a hard time creating enough vacuum to make them work right. I did pods on my 1000e and 1100gl with BS34?s and those were a PITA to dial in. What are some of you running for carb setup on your 1100 4v motors?

Stock carbs, pods, supertrapp, and jet kit. Beyond that, I can't help much.I picked up a 82 GS1100e for close to nothing. It has the BS36 carbs on it. Is there really an advantage to running those? The 36's are a pretty common upgrade from the 34's. I had a set from an 1150 on my es before going to RS flatsides.83 GS1100ES rebuild:

i have 36's on my es....along with pods, yosh pipe, and dynojet stage 3. I have no comment on the perf upgrade as the switch was done before my ownership, but many say it is worth it.Comment

As indicated by others even a stock (no internal changes) 1100E can Handel bs36 carbs. Most times this is in conjunction with pods, pipes jetting as a minimum. I also had 0.340” cams which worked well but got even better with 1166 kit.I picked up a 82 GS1100e for close to nothing. It has the BS36 carbs on it. Is there really an advantage to running those? As pos said. Pods, pipe, jetting. I was running 1150 cams at the time, degreed in with stock head and bore. Later went with 1166 kit and mildly ported head and .34 cams and flatslides.83 GS1100ES rebuild:
