    Is there any way to test the oil pressure switch on my 80 gs1100?

    1.) when engine is off you should have a short (use an ohm meter) between tip and ground.

    2.) When the engine is running a volt meter between the tip and plus side of battery should be zero volts.

    If step #2 goes to 12V then the switch is bad (or you have no oil flow).

    U an do the same thing with the sensor removed pushing on the disk when you think oil is flowing

      The bikes not running. I can run a hot wire from the harness to the oil press. light & the light works. With the switch removed from the bike, how can I wire the op switch to turn out the light?

        Ground the switch housing and the light should come on;

        When you push the disk the light will go out.
