How much is this Yamaha R/R?
You can get a Polaris series R/R (the SH775) for less than $65.

The yamaha FH012 is over a hundred bucks. It appears to be a series type of regulator and uses mosfets so it runs cooler.
Now it's the FH020A

If it was a series unit, I'd guess it would be mentioned. But just buy one and lets test it! My good old SH 232 Shindengen never got hot to the touch ,but that didn't help my stator run cooler.1981 gs650L

Unfortunately there are a bunch of people buying those FET based SHUNT r/r with the expensive connectors thinking it is the best thing going. The FH012AA is what I used in comparison tests with the compufire Series r/r. The Fh burned up two electro sport stators in short order on my ED.The yamaha FH012 is over a hundred bucks. Really?!? I sincerely did not think it was a shunt type. I received my SH775 last week and will be installing it as soon as time permits. I like tom203's idea about having the backup.Unfortunately there are a bunch of people buying those FET based SHUNT r/r with the expensive connectors thinking it is the best thing going. That was pretty obvious, that Is why I was being so persistent
.
See the official website and they list the FH020 right off the bat as FET SHUNT type
The only SERIES type is the SH-775 with two other higher capacity ones planned.

Hi,
My GS400E still has the stock regulator on it and I would like to change it to the SH-775. My issue is that I cannot seem to find any order-able parts that reference the Shindengen part number. Can you please let me know if the Polaris 4012941 is the part that people have been purchasing?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Just want to make sure I get the right part
Kindest regards,
-IanComment
