    79 gs750 spark plug wires...

Newbie here. First post. Need a little direction on replacing spark plug wires. One is cracked and basically shot. Replaced the spark plugs, no problem, but now the actual top of the spark plug won't seat correctly, it's almost as if whoever had the bike before me screwed the caps off the plugs and used different wires?? Just a wild guess, but???

Where do I get new wires from?

    Help!!!!... Please

The stock wires plug into a recess in the coil with a spike terminal at the bottom. Try to pull the stock wires out of the coil, and if the wire tears, carefully dig it out with a pick (available for cheap at Harbor Freight), being careful to not damage the spike.

The stock wires are 7mm copper wire core. You can use same w/resistor caps like stock (NGK makes some nice replacements), Or you can use suppression wires w/non resistor caps.

Lots more info in the archives on this subject so consider trying the search feature.

So basically they are nothing more than a 7mm stock type cap and wire? Just making sure I get it correct. And are you actually cutting and pulling back some of the plastic of the wire to let the wire show and epoxying it in the coil?

I don't understand what you are asking. As mentioned already, the stock wires are coper core. The plug caps are resistor type. You can go this way OR, move to suppressor core wire and a non resistor cap. Your choice.

There is a spike inside the coil recess. The stock wires are pressed onto this spike so the spike and the inner wire core make continuity. You are not supposed to peel back the inner wire or what have you. Use epoxy or RTV to seal the new wires after they are installed (just like stock).
