78 gs550 running on 4 cylinders burnt out headlight blown fuse

So I got the bike to the point where I felt I could take it out on the road but as soon as I did the headlight started to Flickr and then burnt out and when I got back the fuse was blown. Anybody ever run in to this before or does it sound more like a short in the wire harness somewhere.? I guess I'm just wondering if it could be my regulator is bad vs tearing the harness out.

Good guess, maybe but a better idea would be to test it.

Your voltmeter could tell you a whole lot quicker than we could.
