Directional puzzler?
My directionals function perfectly if the temperature is under 70 degrees F. If it's warmer outside, they don't flash at all. Should I be looking at the control unit? The flasher? I haven't priced them yet, but I'm sure the flasher would be cheaper. Thanks!Tags: None

I would gather dirty contacts rather than marginally operational flasher(old style at least) or bulb filaments; Both are either good or bad,not much in between. get some DeOxit.Originally posted by fredley View PostMy directionals function perfectly if the temperature is under 70 degrees F. So I'm assuming you are not running LED's nor have you changed your flasher to a newer style for LED's.

Your assumption on the LED's is correct. I'm still running original equipment. I'll give the contacts a try. Thanks!

The stock flasher relay is a thermal one, so I'd be thinking yours is faulty if it's being affected by temperature.Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )
Past:
VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Yeah, I was thinking about the contacts and couldn't think of any that both the left and right side had in common. The flasher relay might make more sense. Thanks!Originally posted by hillsy View PostThe stock flasher relay is a thermal one, so I'd be thinking yours is faulty if it's being affected by temperature.
