    Replacing the Ignition cover

    Hi.
I have a big crack in my ignition cover on my GS 750 78?- and just found this one ebay. How do I find out if this one fits my bike? My bike is a 78 and this cover is from a GS1100 1983.

I don't know why folks don't check to see if the part is still available from Suzuki. In this case, it is. $42 from Partzilla. In any case, get the OEM part number and then put it into the part number search on Partzilla and they will tell you which models the cover fits. Since it doesn't list all 83 GS1100 models, I am guessing some MIGHT be different than the ones listed. You should probably say exactly which model 750 you have for this reason as well. Many eBay auctions don't actually list the specific model so there is always a chance of buying a part that won't fit.

Which '83 GS1100 was that from? If it's from the shaftie (GS1100G, GL, or GK) it probably would fit. Not sure about the 1100E. In any case, that one's pretty beat up and it's painted black.

A new OEM cover will come without the "SUZUKI" emblem -- that's actually a thin aluminum sticker.

In any case, just post in Parts Wanted and someone will most likely have a nicer one they can send you a lot cheaper than that.

The issue I had was I had the 16 valve cover on mine and the bottom hole didn't line up. The hole on the 16 valve was a little too much to the right.
