Need side cover post measurement - '82-'83 GS1100E

I'm working on a spare set of body work for my '83 GS1100 and need to repair the posts on the side covers, the round ones with a larger 'mushroom' head. None of my side covers have these original posts so I don't have a way to measure them.

Can anyone with a good set of side covers take some measurements for me:

    - Diameter of post (below the head)
    - Diameter of head
    - Height of post from base of side cover
    - Height from base of side cover to bottom of head

Thanks in advance for any help...

Yeah, I was trying to think of another way to express that thought. The only other description I could come up with is 'The one that looks like a pen!s' so I figured I'd go with the more politically correct description and see how long it took for someone to point it out......

Joe, sorry but my 1100E side covers both have a hole where the post used to be.

Glad Bruce came through -- I just had Bob's bike in my garage earlier today (and we had the side covers off, and one of his is intact!), but I didn't see this request until he was gone!

Did you guys get the starter clutch straightened out?

                          Yep.

Wasn't the starter clutch, just very low/intermittent starting voltage caused by several dirty connections, a hinky clutch switch, and a loose battery connection.

After cleaning, tightening, etc. all is well.
