Well, for my bike, I can claim "first 850GK".

On my 850G, how about "first time a fastener was replaced with another using the correct metric thread" (found all sorts of inch crap on this bike, including a few jammed bolts still carrying Briggs & Stratton paint...)

Or maybe "first time maintenance was performed without slopping crappy gray sealer goop all over everything"?

Pretty sure I did the "first ever valve clearance check", too.

I am the first owner of my 1983 750E. Bike was stored in my underground for about 12 years since I had last ridden it. 11000 km. Joined the forum and started its resto.

New air cleaner { old one was dust }
Change of 28 year old oil and filter
Replace fork seals
Replace 28 year old brake fluid { full rebuild soon }

chain inspection { no visible wear, and no stretch according to Suzuki's measurements }

The 77 750 in my albums was my first GS, my first Suzuki, my first project bike ever. Till I got her I hadnt done anything on a bike except change the oil, plugs, and air filter on my 98 Shadow 1100 VTC. Then came the addiction to GSs that i fight against everyday...LOL

Actually, the tire is falt across the center because about 95 % of the time only the center is in contact with the road. Unless your riding almost everyday on lots of twisties the edges dont get worn. The tire gets flat down the center because thats the area thats scrubbed almost constantly both during stopping with the rear brake and while acceleration. And I agree with Highway gliders acessment of a FEW burnout being done with the tire..
