The part number would seem to indicate these should be 40mm thread length:
01550-10407
The thread is M10 X 1.25mm pitch, which is JIS standard.
I'd make sure this is right before riding -- there's not much thread there, and brakes are sorta important...
Auto parts shoppes should have bolts that will work. Tell 'em it's for a Toyota or something.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

All the stock caliper bolts are 40mm. It's actually a very common caliper bolt size1980 GS1000G - Sold

Metric bolts come in various grades. What you get in a store like Home Depot/Lowes is 8.8 which is not strong enough. I think you need at least 9.8 or 10.9. I'm assuming the guy at the auto parts store should be able to tell you what you need.Comment

The auto parts stores in north America and Canada are far superior to the ones in uk. I got them from racebolt UK not genuine Suzuki.They say there bolts are used on TT bikes.The ones I have are 35mm and should be 40mm.If I torque them do I use the same settings as in manual as I don't want 1 to snap.1983 GS 650 gl

You can use that torque & loctite & you will be fine... 35mm is right on the borderline of long enough.
Grade 8.8 should be ok for brakes, A2-70 for stainless - 10.9 is preferable. There is not really much stress on the bolts as it's a cross shear force (i.e. the caliper is trying to be rotated).
