    82 gs850: Air jet setting

When I cleaned the carbs, I popped the aluminum puck and removed the airjets. Exactly what do these do and how critical is the setting of these and how would you go about retuning these anyway? (whew!)

Yes, I have been through that. Not to be short but it is more illustrative than descriptive. Not a put down of that work, it did me wonders and I'm thankful for it. I don't know if I'm going to mess with them now or not. The bike runs. Not well, but I took it down the street. I believe the regulator is also dead. I'm going to update a post to provide details.

The easiest way to set them is to tune them for "best idle". I synced my carbs, and then doing one carb at a time adjust the screw to get the highest idle. Reset to the desired idle speed and repeat the process for the next carb. Do this for each carb and you're done. Pretty simple.

Now that's about the best description I have read! thanks. Are they basically for idle/ low speed or do they serve a larger function?
