Versah Head Gasket, Which side is the top?

The subject line pretty much says it all. On the Versah replacement head gasket there dosen't seem to be any indication as to which end is the top and which end is the bottom. Any thoughts? Thanks,

What does your manual say??? Most gaskets I have replaced suggest that the side with imprinted numbers or manufacturers name goes UP.

I have a GS550ES and I noticed in my Clymer manual that it does instruct to install it with the numbers up. Check your manual if you have one.

The problem with the Versah is that there is no T or any numbers to indicate which side is the top side. According to the clymer manual there should be a T on the head gasket and that is the top side. I know that some people have used the Versah gasket kits and I'm curious as to what they did to decide which side was the top.

WOW no marks is a problem. Perhaps you can call them and see if there is another way they can help you figure out which side is up ???

Most likely it doesn't matter which side is up.

The cylinder base gasket has a bottom or top. I don't think the head gasket does as long as everything lines up.

Yup. Please do not use sealer or silicone on your GS gaskets.

Silicone valve cover gaskets are the bee's knees. All the finer GS riders swear by them.
