    hard starting when hot

    1982 gs850, works fine except after a drive won't turn over fast enough to start. let it cool down10 mins and its fine. new battery last fall, any ideas?[-o<

    Dead spot in starter. Try pushing the starter rapidly a couple times even when hot. That will turn it past dead spot. Consider replacing brushes or starter. Your call. Or just wait til it cools off.

      I'd check connections between the battery and starter, heat will make a bad wire or connection worse or fail all together.

        Classic symptom of dirty starter insides. Been discussed a million times - do a search.

            Even though you say it's relatively new, how was it stored over the winter?
            I would not rule out the possibility of a weak battery.
