Ngk-br8es = Ngk-b8es????
SON OF A &#^$*!!!! Just my luck. I grabbed the wrong darn spark plugs. Can I use the NGK-BR8ES in my 1983 GS850 GLD??? They look the same size as the NGK-B8ES.... Please tell me yes....Tags: None -

Yes the R stands for resistor, all the other letters and numbers are the same so they are a direct fit. -

I tried the resistor version of the plugs once on purpose. I dunno why, really.
End difference: nada.
Oh, and get your B8-ES plugs at Advance or Pep Boys auto parts stores. You'll save about a buck each over what they charge down at Ye Olde Cycle Shoppe.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

I have been thinking about getting the Iradium (Spelling??) plugs on purpose. Says they last longer burn better and under leaner conditions. But at $8 a pop I hate to waste money on a marketing fluff job :PComment

Actually, the "R" stands for "radial" and your bike is not set up for radial plugs. You have to use bias-ply plugs.
Gee, I hope he doesn't believe this suggestion.

Iridium last longer and improve starting and can boost low- midrange torque some as the very fine center electrode makes for a quicker, hotter spark.
I have run them and like them.Comment
