Since the subject is electrical connections, what do you do to replace/repair bullet connectors that have gone bad? Can you buy them to attach to bare wires, or is it common to replace both ends with blade-type connectors sold everywhere?Originally posted by Eli69 View Postde-ox good! whenever i get a chance i clean and de-ox some connections. if this was done at the factory it might have saved a lot of stators.

I believe if you do a search, you'll see where the most common suggestion is to actually replace all the connectors with the blade type. The bullet ones suck. I have a lot of them on my GS that have been temporarily crimped together with a pair of pliers until I get time to replace them to keep them from coming apart.

you can buy both types (bullet and blade) and a sturdy crimping tool. opens up a whole new world of electrical repair possibilities. the reason i've used both is that i never seem to have enough of one type to do everything so i used what i had. connectors really aren't cheap and they seem to be something i always forget to get more of. could be an old guy thing.Originally posted by LarryA_Texas View PostSince the subject is electrical connections, what do you do to replace/repair bullet connectors that have gone bad? I found another use for Caig Deoxit spray unrelated to electrics. If you spray the stuff on rubber/neoprene parts, they will swell
. There are many places this might come in handy (in a pinch) on these old bikes.
