GS Oil Pressure Tester 0-25 PSI

Some of you may know I developed a knock @ idle in my GS1000 after performing plug chops. I would like to rule out the oil pump output but I have I don't have a oil pressure gage/tester in my box of tools. I just want to measure the output pressure but and not necessarily install a permanent gage

    Any suggestions?

Installed a gauge on my 850 by drilling and taping the plug on the side of the cylinder (plug is same as the fill plug for the diff). Simple matter to connect a gauge after that.

Automotive fuel system gauges are low pressure (0 - 15 psi), and "should" tolerate oil reasonably well. I think Jeg's and Summit sell gauges for less than $20 so you might want to consider this.

    Good luck.

      Nessism,
I am kinda looking for a oil pressure tester which would be similar to a Compression or Vacuum Tester, any suggestions? BTW I am always amazed with your ability to locate anything GS related from feeler gages on up. If you run across a 1978 -1982 Ducati 900 or BMW R90S let me, LOL.

      Thanks
      Steve

Path of least resistance is as I already described. Total cost will be about $25. An oil pressure tester will have too high a range to read the low GS oil pressure.
