    Lighting Suggestions

I'm thinking that I would like to arm my GS with some running lights. My high beam rocks, but my low leaves a bit to be desired. I would like to supliment with something that will give me some distance and width on the low beam without blinding oncoming traffic or drawing the attention of law enforcement. Any suggestions?

    Live with it.

Yeah, the charging systems on these bikes don't have a bunch in reserve, so can't handle much in the way of additional lights.

Do you still have a sealed beam installed, or has it been upgraded to the newer H-4 style headlight with a replaceable bulb yet?

I've thought the exact same thing recently phaseman. I'll be watching this thread with interest. The problem with GS's is the dodgy elecrical systems. I'll be interested to see what people say.

New tech bulbs do make a difference. The Sylvania/Ostram Silver Star is a popular upgrade.

There are some hellishly bright LED arrays out there now that might be an option. They are a bit spendy, though.

If you can find one of the 8" E model headlights they put out a tremendous amount of light even on low beam. They are getting tough to find though.

I still have the original style lamp installed, I'll look into sealed beam upgrades and see what I can find.

Find a stanley 001-1970 7" headlight (that's just the lens/reflector) that was common on '80-up UJM's and put in place of your GARBAGE sealed beam. throw a silverstar bulb in it while your there.
