    Tires and spark plug questions.

    Hello,

I'm looking at putting on a new rear tire (I believe it's 100/90-16) on an '82 GS1100, I believe GK model. (Has the two side trunks, rear, front fairing with windshield)

Are these the same tires as any/all other GS series of Suzuki's?

Also, which spark plugs are the best/correct size ones to buy?

    Thank you,
    Ryan

That rear tire is way too skinny.

Life is too short to ride an L.

120's were specked for my GS1000E rear tire, I went to 130's as was commonly done in the day. It's nothing like modern tires, but not bad at all.

That's what I was thinking. I will have to check them out again to know for sure.

And thanks a lot for the links to the manuals.

I do believe the original rear tire on the GK was 130/90-16 (MT90-16 is the corresponding size in tires sized that way, like the Dunlop Elite 3). This is the same as most of the L and GL models. There are gobs of good choices in this size. Search the forum for tires for more.

            It definitely wasn't 100/90-16.

              Greetings and Salutations!!

              Hi Mr. TheRealFatShady,

On my website you'll also find a chart that will tell you your bike uses NGK B8ES spark plugs. I'd also suggest using a 130 for your rear tire, but not any wider because the rims are too skinny and will pinch the tire. That's what I use on my bike. Now I'll just say "HOoooowwDY!"
