I want to remove the cover so i can remove the clear coat and polish it.Is there a gasket there?will it leak oil?

No gasket and no oil, just make sure you use an impact driver (they type you hit with a hammer) to take out the phillips head screws.Ed

Take it from another 850 owner (times THREE
), you can safely remove that cover and there is no gasket involved.
