Headbolts
Those headbolts that are kind of under the sparkplug on the #1 and 4# cylinders can oil leak out of those?

On the 8V engines, the studs at the outer corners (the ones capped by acorn nuts) do act as oil passages.
There are (or should be) copper washers under the acorn nuts that seal these passages.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

I think he's asking about that little 6mm bolt, out on the end of the head.
Yes, there is a possibility it could leak there. There's not a whole lot of clamping force there, but it does keep the end of the head from lifting.

Yes the 6mm
Yes the 6mm. I saw oil on the airbox and thats the only place it looked like it could be from. I think I had too short of bolt in there. When I removed them the threads came out stuck to about the first 5 threads on the bolt. I took them all loose and put longer 6mm bolts in then retorqued the head.Comment

If the holes strip out completely, check to see if there is room under the bolt for a nut.
You might be able to just use a much longer bolt and nut, just sandwiching the joint.

The holes
The 6mm holes didn't seem completly stripped out, I cranked them down close as I could to 6.5LB. I'll ride it to work today and see if it still leaks.
