Still no luck, may have to bite the bullet and spend $165.00 for a new one

Soaked it over night in PB Blaster, compressed air did not work could not get it to seal around the banjo bolt opening.

            Joe,
Get yourself a rubber grommet or similar and use that to seal the air chuck when you blow into the master. Even a few rounds of duct tape may do the job. Don't give up that easily.

I should have some time today, I'll give that a try.

              Thanks Ed

One other thing you can try is get a sharp pick tool and use it to hook into that rubber cup. That will force the issue with having to buy a rebuild kit but no biggie there since you will most likely need one anyway. Repeating my self here but check the bore for pitting before spending money on a rebuild kit, you may need a new master if the metal is corroded.

I know that you've done all this work cleaning and pulling apart but it does take some time to get the air out once you've cleaned these master cylinders so that may have been your problem all along. AIR in the system.

If the piston is jammed in the bore so tight that it won't come out, the problem is not AIR in the system.

Where does he say that the piston is jammed? Or am I having a mental flip here....

Read the post, he can't get the piston out of the bore..it is stuck fast. He's tried soaking it, air..etc.

Yes piston is jammed in the up position, It was really rusty around the opening where the rubber boot protects the bore area, every reason to believe the inside is just as bad.

Found a complete rear master, res, line and caliper for $30.00 shipped on ebay. Pulled the M/C apart and it was is in really good condition, cleaned everything real well put it back together and bled the brakes. Me now have rear stops....
