I have been told by someone who should know that the air-cooled GSXR front sprockets will also fit right on to the '82+ GS1100 motors.

I just did a 520 coversion on my bike. The GSXR front sprockets do fit the GS models. I'm running a 4.5" GSXR wheel so I went with the Katana 600 520 rear sprocket. A Regina Gold o-ring chain finished off the swap.

Guys claim to be using the GS sprocket carrier on the early '90s 5.5" GSXR wheels which means the early '90s 520 rear sprockets should work on the GS models.
