GS1000 "spare hole" dilemma

Ok, so now the hydraulic clutch is near completion i find i have a spare hole in my clutch cover, (black arrow)



i am looking for ideas of what i can do with it...........

ok, i could simply make up an aluminium slug and bung it up but i was wondering if i could put it to any use. i thought maybe an oil temperature sender but i guess it would need to be immersed in oil, not splash fed to read accurately. obviously an oil pressure gauge wouldn't work either, so any ideas any one what i could do with it?

also, the now redundant cable mount (blue arrow) looks like it could have potential to "do" something, but i dont know what.

any mods have to be easily reversible as the whole hydraulic clutch conversion can be converted back to cable operation relatively easily. (except the cover of course,which i have a spare ready to fit if needed)

any bright ideas anyone???

if you look at the pic, it has a crankcase breather already. it is just resting on the oil filler cap at the moment.

I'd plug it. Maybe even machine a dome and bright polish it to point out that "something is missing."

Not sure what to do with your clutch cable mount. Perhaps you could store an emergency cig in there.

good idea, and fit a cigarette lighter in the hole at the top of the cover

It does seem rather close to the 14 MM drain plug size..so maybe the filler hole is a good idea.

the hole itself is 21.5mm diameter, so yes i could make an internal threaded slug to fit in the hole,to take the drain plug size bolt, but i would want something a bit more "pleasing to the eye" rather than just a plain hex bolt screwed in there.......

How about a aluminum plug that has 2 orings as a safeguard against leaking. Get any ornanmet that you wish to fashion as the handle to remove the plug and fill the oil..basically a press in / pull out bung. Maybe find a big Suzuki "S" as the handle. Facing out to the side of course.
