Sound of a Delkevic 4:1 - A few people asked for this

Nessism & I fired up my rebuilt 1100G for the first time this weekend.. a few teething problems & intermittent on cyl 4 (blocked carb passage I think) but doesn't affect the noisemaker. Click the pic for video (excuse the mess!)

Please tell me that's a Shinko 712 on the rear.

The pipe's a little loud for my taste, but it sounds nice.

It does sound sport bike and loud.
Can you guess the weight difference between OEM and the Delkevic full system?
          Thanks!

OEM to Delkevic at a pulling it out of my *ss guess, Delkevic is about 1/4 of the weight.

Do you hear a kind of off-beat sound when riding?

                    No riding yet...
I'll let you know when I do... I think my V&H had a kind of "pulse" to it on one of the bikes at freeway speeds.

I don't know if its the longer number 1 pipe.
I only had the Delkevic on my 1000 for less than 30 miles.Switched back to an old Bassani.
Its a nice exhaust for the price.

Never owned a Delkevic, but it sounds good to me, I'm kind'f addicted to the 4 into 1 sound, love them all. But the only one that really stands out, to me, was the old Yosh. 4 into 1 with the 3" collector, you could recognize that sound as far as you could hear them. Got one out in the garage, took it off cause couldn't have a center stand & had to remove to change the oil. Aggravating, but gosh they sure sound unique.

I mostly got rid of the annoying pulsating note by welding in a cone to the gathering point of the gases before they go along the centre baffle pipe. I stuck a couple of stainless steel pot scrubbers in there too, just to be sure. The racket has nearly gone, but not quite.
I'll be making a new internal muffler design with two (or three) parallel perforated pipes and forcing the gases to slow down and migrate across to the exit.

The diameter of the baffle is small on the Delkevic, there are not that loud.
Are you making a complete new baffle?

Well, I didn't use the Delko muffler, because I knew I'd have to cut and modify a brand new one to fit the AFR sensor and other reasons, apart from that, the Hardly muffler was much cheaper as a starting base to modify. It came as a bit of a surprise that your own one had the same blat, as I'd assumed the noise was peculiar to mine.
Once I get the fuelling sorted out finally I might buy the proper Delko muffler and not have to cut it about, but that's a way off yet.
