    New jetting
    Main jet 1&4 150
    Main jet 2&3 152.5
    Jet needle third from bottom.
Will post spark plug reads after a good ride.
The jetting was still too rich.

Bill, unknown to most that aren't knowledgable tuners & engine builders, most times a ported head will be more efficient & actually use LESS jetting than a stock engine that isn't as efficient. I wasn't surprised to see you needing to go smaller jetting. Terry & I have discussed this before too. I would try 145s on the outers & 147.5s on the inners. Ray.

You guys have all the cool tricks... I was at Trippivot's yesterday and we were talking about using different mains in different cylinders. I do have a question... how are you deciding on the smaller mains? Is it plug condition or a specific tool? Thanks

          Ray,
I'm running 147.5's (1166 Terry head and 36mm CV; so I'm very similar except for the larger CC) all the way across and was thinking of bumping by inside cyliners up. My temp is more under control now so maybe just retard the timing a degree or two on those cylinders.

I read the heat on the plugs. The inner two had one thread of heat and the outer two had no threads of heat. The base of the plug where the tang is on is sooty on the outer two and dark on the inner two.
This thing did roll on wheelies with a rich setting.

Jim, leave the timing the same on all 4 cylinders! Just go 1 size bigger on the inner cylinders due to more heat there. Ray.

48 degree's of total advance should clean those plugs up nice.

Is this a common problem because my bike also is lean on 2 and 3 and richer on 1 and 4 ?

I MAY make it one mile.
32 is where it's at and I'm sure.

The inner cylinders get hotter since they don't have outer cooling fins.
The GS1150 came stock with 120 mains on the outers and 122.5s on the inners.

                            Chef1366,
Thanks for the info on the plugs. Now if I can figure out why it runs on 3 until i get past 1/4 throttle. You guys have fun while I wait for the rain to stop. That might be on Friday.

RS carbs go out of sink a lot.
if you have 1 slide down then it will run on 3 till the throttle starts to open and it won't run 100% on all 4 till its wide open.
