Depends on the Dyno, air pressure you run in the tyre, elevation temps and a bunch of other stuff if bikes are anything like cars...
Really only useful for same day comparisons although 2 runs on the same Dyno on different days is a useful comparison....
I learnt when I was messing with cars for track that most Dyno's lie....

Yeah, Motorman's method is the way to go. Not very PC to treat it like the red head though.
Just a normal good old hammering should do the job.
Bill, if you leave it running for 10 minutes at 3000 - 4000 rpm with no load on it, you're wasting the opportunity of getting the initial bedding down process started. As Motorman explains, the window of opportunity for a really good ring sealing surface is pretty narrow.
The ideal run in preparation is to have the spark timing set conservatively, carbs tuned slightly fat and pre-fill the oil galleys and cam bearings by spinning the engine over with the plugs out, just prior to the first start up.
Avoid too rich a setting, or you will wash the cylinder walls and destroy the chance of a good bedding down.
Once started and it feels and sounds right, get out on an open road as soon as possible. No long periods of idling or no load running.
Don't get hung up on HP figures. You'll know soon enough if you're getting the sort of performance you're expecting.:) The road to hell is paved with good intentions......................................

Here is some pics of my plugs. They are 1-4 left to right.
I think #2 has a leak on the vacuum nipple for the petcock since I have it blocked off. I run a pingle.

Bill,
Why are the threads on your plugs ground/cut to various lengths?

The only way to read the main jet jetting is the ring at the bottom of the insulator. You can't see it unless you chop the plug.
I sacraficed a few plugs so I don't go BOOM!
The main jetting in this case is perfect.Comment

I've read the term "Plug Chops", and I understand reading the color, but I had no idea it was literally a plug chop! That could be tricky to do. Cut the plugs I mean. Read and learn.

No premonition Bill! Those plugs are looking fine. Just a faint ring of carbon at the base, as you would like. The tips are pinker than mine. It's safer that way.
Ya gonna loose a bit of compression when ya fit those plugs back up though.
