Got the carbs all synced up. 127.5 mains and 20 pilots, two washers. About 1.5 turns out on the air screw. I know sounds strange seeing as the book says the screws are set at 2 turns at the factory. We drilled the plugs and found that they were set at .5 turn out on both carbs!

Here he is riding home. Hope the air held in that rear tire!

What a nice piece of work!
If darth vader were a motorcycle it would be this.

The engine cases would look great in black wrinkle coat.

Yah, the taillight is an eyesore. He has some ideas though. Turns out the bike made it home ok, but there was a battery charging issue? Not sure what happened there as I never had a problem. Uh-oh....... You guys better buck up and help him out!

I'm not sure where to put the tail light with the exhaust in the way. I guess you could either mold a tail light into the ducktail or a side mount.

But yeah, good to hear he got home safely! As for the charging issue... We can't help unless he joins the GSR!

Looking forward to welcoming him to the fold, he's sure to get the charging issue sorted here in no time.

Scott, you did a spectacular job on that, looks brilliant.

That is kick ass. I wanted to build my 750 similarly but gotta have some pillion ability.

Thanks guys! I learned a ton on this build, and hope to apply it to a future cafe more along the lines of FC. I'm satisfied just riding for now.....

Did I mention the 500 has an intake leak, oil leak (x3) and needs a bit of work on the suspension.......old bikes rule!

Yes it is a great build you did there. As far as the work needed on your new one, thats what we get with used bikes. It all good.
