It's just a bit messy if you don't drain it first .
Bit of a bugger getting it out later though .
I got RAD Hardchroming in Brissy to do my forks .
Money VERY well spent , I'll give you the drum .

    Cheers , Simon .

It's all separated and stacked in the rack.
No leaks as I tipped it over so that's a bit of a bonus.

The forks have been rebuilt so I'm a bit hesitant to pull them apart again.
But there is a fair bit of pitting on the uppers.

Having said that, I was hesitant to pull the bike apart originally and look at me now.

Don't worry Leigh, you'll get there

My guess is it will take you less than 10 years also... ha

I didn't need to do anything about the chrome on my forks, but Simon's about the 5th person I've had tell me RAD are the place to fix 'em...

            Thanks mate.
It's been a wandering sort of epic so far and I still really haven't got anywhere with it.

I might have a look around for a place down here for the forks if I need to do them.
I'll see if I can get a bit more of it out myself first.

..and this is where I've ended it today.

Parts in the rack, frame to one side, engine under the towel.

                Oh, and this..

Delightful stuff under the front sprocket cover.

I used their brand plastic paint (black) for my chain guard and fork trim but that's about it...

Only in reapplying it after a crappy job.
I don't know about the paints mentioned, there are others who would know more.

It has a kind of silicone elasticity to it. I think I could sculpt something nice and bake it in a kiln
