My standard Yosh pipe has more clearance as stock than a Vance & Hines... Never had a problem with it. Can't fit centrestand though & it needs to be removed to do any work on the bike.....

Plus one on those rear shocks. Being upside down gives an impression of light / fragile etc and it works very well in my book.79 GS1000S

Yeah I never had any clearance issues; just never really liked the aesthetics of it.Originally posted by salty_monk View PostMy standard Yosh pipe has more clearance as stock than a Vance & Hines... Thats an awsome paint job. Wish he could go my GS1000SN but shipping all the parts from the Uk to do just isn't an option.

Finally got the cams degreed. 105.5 intake, 107 exhaust. Tomorrow I'll button up the motor, finish installing the dyna 2000 and coils, install the instrument cluster/headlight/signals, put on the wheels and install the brakes. Oh, and finish painting the VM33's so I can install them Saturday. I plan on firing it up Sunday.

Great idea to use the 1100E front fender/rims and 1150 rotors also, eh?
We ride south past Carson City all of the time. PM sent for directions.

I had a black standard Yosh header and I used to scrape the crap out of it in RT handers. I sold it for $100 and got a chrome race header. No more clearance problems. Regarding the center stand issue; we used our center stands as work stands. We left the mounting bolts in the frame bosses and used them (only need 1 of them in most cases) to temporarily reattach it for servicing our bikes. It was a P-I-T-A having to remove the head pipes to change oil but we used it as an opportunity to thoroughly clean our pipes and otherwise inaccessible parts of the bike. You can use it to change the rear tire without removing the head pipes.Originally posted by russr33 View PostYeah I never had any clearance issues; just never really liked the aesthetics of it.
