Thanks, felt really good to hear it start up. Lots of blood and sweat to this point, the payoff in the end will be well worth it.

There is something special about taking a rusted hulk back to a reborn state, like it talks to ya during.

Gonna sync it all up this weekend. Been working the brakes last few days, both calipers and both mc's re-sealed. Shooting for a weekend ride if all goes well.

Finished up the brakes. Earl's lines made up and installed, bled em all, feel really good. Few odds and ends to tie up in the morning then ride time.

Interesting that you painted the caliper silver.

I glass bead blasted the caliper then put 2 coats of clear over it. I thought the raw metal look would look different and nice but not sure about it yet, what do you think of it.

                Not sure yet.
It kind of matches the engine, rims, carbs, sprockets, etc.
Waiting for the completed project to form an opinion.
Of course, the ONLY opinion that counts is your own.

Weeeeeeeeeee, ran it down the road a few miles. I like the slight forward feel of the daytona bars versus the original, comfortable.

Power and acceleration was good. Brakes are good and ride was nice. I rebuilt the petcock but it's not shutting off so gonna replace it.

                  Just before the short ride:

Clamp off the fuel hose before it floods the crankcase.

Took the tank back off. Boy would that have frosted my butt had I not checked it.

Finished the wet sand with 600. 2 coats of Omni MP182 hi-build 2k followed by 2 more and another wet sand. First medium coat of Jet-Glo deep red on, so far so good.
