With the jet kit, modified exhaust and 5% advance the bike has become a bit of a monster compared to the bandit, really good throttle response and it sounds amazing! We only had a few quick rides on it and heaps of bits aren't done up tight (like the handlebars) but it felt pretty animal, so really looking forward to putting it through its paces!

Made some amazing progress today. Got the exhaust on, oil cooler on, jet kit installed, carbs on, brakes and clutch bled, chain on... And then we test rode it! Most bits were only done up finger tight but that didn't stop Ed from doing a rolling burnout! Haven't uploaded a video before so not sure if it will work.. But here goes:

Definitely keep me posted! I am slightly nervous about the drastic changes I am making to my bike and how they MAY adversely affect the handling. Our bikes are similar so since you're going to be done first do you mind being the guinea pig?? Haha I'll keep checking back on your progress.

Have you ridden the bike as it sits now yet? How does it handle with the 17's and street tires? did you raise the rear at all when you converted to the new suspension?

No, it hasn't been I a rideable state yet, only mocked up for photos, hopefully should be riding it in the next couple of weeks, I did ride the bandit before I stripped it, so I can sort of imagine what it might be like..... I'll keep you posted.
And, yes the rear is slightly higher than standard.

Cheers for the positive comments, I am pretty pleased with how it's all coming together.

I hear what you're saying, that would look awesome and I will definitely look into it... Only problem I see is that the white panel on the tank follows the shape of the tank, so the bottom line of the white panel would need to change quite dramatically to match the rear panel.

I'll have a bit of a play around with it and keep you posted.

Ahh, but that's the beauty of a black tank and surrounding black components. It'll all blend right in. Won't even see the tank's body lines.

Hey man I looked through most of your thread the other day. I really like your build! It's similar to what I am doing except I'm trying to stay a tad more traditional. Custom fab work looks good!

Didn't get much time for my bike tonight ( too busy with real work) but did sort of mock up the headlight, I think the gauges need to move down a bit, maybe inline with the top fork clamp.

oh man you do really have to hack it up! did you have to do anything for the seat pan aswell?

Here's what I had to do to the underside of the tail light for tire clearance, as I mentioned before, it still needs a bit of finishing cause it's pretty ghetto looking, it required quite a bit of butchering:-).. But you've really gotta jam your head up under there to even see it. Funny thing is that with my mono shock back end, I think I could run a totally standard light and not have clearance issues.

Yup, It sure did! I had to cut a fairly big chunk out of the underside of the tail light bit, and heated up the lens and pushed it up as far as I could, I haven't got round to tidying it up properly yet, but I can post up a photo of it if you want?
