Never throw out a phone number.. GS1000 Turbo

End of the year, going thru all the stuff piled on my desk. I came across a phone number on a piece of scrap paper marked GS1000 / GS1100. I couldn't remember what it was about, called the number and 24 hours later came home with a 1979 GS1000 with a MR Turbo kit installed and a 1980 GS1100L parts bike..... $700 Speedo on the 1000 shows 1770 miles. The 1100 fired right up, sounds good, The turbo bike is going to need a starter, turns over a time or two and then just gives up. I'll be parting out the 1100, The turbo bike will have to be back burnered for a while but I hope to get the project started by spring.

Much rarer than a 1979-80 Suzuki GS1000S. Kawasaki had ATP install their street Turbo kits on the 1979 Silver Blue Z-1R's. There are numerous links on the site that really go into the details

Good times, PM me your e-mail, all send a pic of the "L" model. Missing the seat and side covers, the rest needs a severe cleaning but is in good shape. 11K miles

Yes the bikes were in Red Hook, Apparently they sold at an auction and the buyer didn't pay for them.
