Hahaha true!
It'll be very interesting to see it all done that's for sure, and should handle pretty well I would think...
As for gearing, can't help you there but there should be some threads on here with links to gearing charts. Some searching *should* show it up I would think...Comment

narrow it and bore out the 14 mm pivot bolt to 16mm. need to have my rear hub turn down to get the chain as close to the tire as i can, Running a 5.5 wheel with 170 tire. then on to the front offset sprocket.Comment

Nice, even with modern forks and wheels I feel a GS looks better with dual shocks... of course just my opinion

I think the easy option these days is the Mac 2 into 1. Not sure if there's a 250 version but there definitely is for the 400/425/450.
As for where to buy them, not sure exactly...

It's easier with a 160 on a 4.5"...
The 170 on a 5.5" will probably be marginal (as to whether you can get chain clearance where it goes to the right of the frame at the front of the swinger).
170 is a little stretched on a 5.5" anyway. I had the 170 / 5.5" setup on my 750.1980 GS1000G - Sold

front end
you mentioned on the front end using a 91-92 gsxr 750 front forks but you played with the bearings a bit. im building a 250 myself and would like to do the same thing. Are they a direct bolt in or with different bearings are they? how exactly did you do it?
Did you have to switch the stem adn upper triple as well?
what all did you switch?
Thanks
