Buchanan's in all stainless steel Spokes and nipples, or Suzuki. Parts Outlaw, Suzuki parts house (Babbit's), or Ron Ayers on OEM parts.

stock Suzuki spokes will not be stainless. Check on price, make sure they aren't pushing the same price as the stainless steel versions.

Been a busy couple of weeks and not much bike work getting done. Spring snow on the ground again today so who knows if bike weather will ever get here! Oh well, picked up the wheels from powder coat today. Here are some before and after pics:

I'd like to find some black spokes for these but I'm not having much luck.

Just order some OEM spokes and powder-coat those also, just make sure they don't put it on very thick, you still want them to fit through the hub!

Powder coating spokes is not cheap so I'll be passing on that. Cheapest I could find OEM stock replacements was Cheap Cycle Parts. Got free shipping too. $130.00 total. They will look fine I think.

Spring snuck up on me and the house & farm projects took over. Still hopeful to get this bike done before summer. Got the wheels laced up today:

I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. I plan on breaking down the last of the bike this weekend and getting the frame, swingarm and a few other final pieces to powder coat.

Powdercoating is cheap on new and clean parts, shipping and a good six pack or two. I can do a mean gloss black. Looks like it's a little late for that.

Yeah I messed around for a month trying to find some. Too bad you didn't see this earlier. Oh well, there's plenty of brushed aluminum left on the bike to tie the spokes into. As said, I'm pretty happy with how the wheels turned out.

Final disassembly and frame goes to powder coat this week.



Had quite a few stubborn bolts but nothing a little heat can't fix.



Was surprised to find the rear motor mount bolt bent...



And the mystery was solved quickly, there was no bolt in the front motor mount. In fact, there were several motor mount bolts missing. And this thing had been ridden that way, the front chain sprocket cover was loaded with grease & road grime. Scary the things POs can do to bikes. I'm pretty sure that "extra" motor I got was the original.

The stands have to come off and some clean up is in order but otherwise the frame is ready for powder coat.
