This is the ST model, they came originally with the ordinary E' type clocks. So possibly the whole cockpit parts have been replaced?Originally posted by trevor View PostHad an interesting find on the Cooley while cleaning the underside of the seat today. Found a piece of tape with the following written on it..
3/25/81 speedometer
current mileage
2305
So it looks the first owner swapped it out for a new one in 81....so with the 18,000 miles in the one now it looks like my bike sits at a little over 20,000 miles....So cool that the guy put this under the seat 35 years ago..

Thanks Dave!Originally posted by Hayabuser View PostGreat progress! FYI, the OEM grips are still available new from Suzuki if you wanted the stock parts for the bike.

Left:
Partzilla lists prices in US funds but if it's available on their website, it's available across the counter at the Suzuki dealer. It's been my reference for a while now... nice to have part numbers and availability info before I go upstairs and bug Dean.
I have to order a couple of small things from Dean tomorrow so maybe I'll add the grips.
Cheers

Yeah it's funny...the mirrors seem so cheap feeling and yet they are apparently worth so much. Not looking forward to not boienf able to see behind me..lolOriginally posted by eddie21 View Postlol Cooley mirrors! I always found it ironic that those things cost so much, but are next to useless in function. (Unless you enjoy looking at the reflection of your shoulders)
We're looking at being in Victoria around Nov 2nd or 3rd and staying for 4 or 5 days. I still want to see the end of the Marty Moates video you have too!
Marty Moates...yes for sure! Love that story!

For sure Glenn, would be great to see you. Do you know when yet? The bike has Grab On's on it now, probably 30+ years old...I couldn't believe Action had a pair.Originally posted by eddie21 View PostThis is really looking good! Love the period correct Grab On's, that's what I always used in the good old days too. Keep at it, hopefully I'll be in town in a couple weeks and it would be a treat to see it in real life!

The mirrors are off the fairing right now...hope this helps...Originally posted by boris.h View Postbrand new! could you take some pictures of the mirrors on the cooley fairing? thanks

Got lots of work done this weekend...new tires mounted along with new wheel bearings...all cleaned up...

Picked up some classic Grab On Grips to match the decal on the gas cap....lol

Exhaust sandblasted and ready for paint...

Cleaned up the frame and engine..forks off for new springs..
