I am not acquainted with Kenda's "hard compound touring tire". All I can offer with that is "good luck".

A harder compound usually equates with a bit less "grip", and the "grip" of the Challengers was already close to ZERO, I hope these do well for you.

I have not gotten a feel for your riding style. If you tend to be a bit "exuberant" or "spirited", be sure to ease into the tires to get a feel for them. I would really hate for you to go into a corner at what you consider to be "normal" speeds, only to be surprised when the tire is not what you were hoping it might be.

Have you had a chance to look at the date code? That might give you a bit more validation for a change.

I see you got a different tire for the front. It appears to be a Dunlop. It came from a Harley, so I might guess it's a 404? Check the date code on it, too. The 404 is a decent tire, it just won't last very long.

I wouldn't call my riding even spirited to be honest. Both tires are 2 years old, but i dont plan on keeping the 16 in the rear for very long. Gonna try to find a 17 next year me thinks. Neither show any signs of aging or hardening yet (both stored inside) im definitely going to keep an eye on them though.

Nothing wrong with that, I wouldn't get too worked up until they closer to 5 years old.

That's a much better choice, my 1100E has a set of those on and I am putting another 230 rear on next spring. I'm very satisfied with them.

                Definitely a step UP.

Still not the "cream of the crop", but I have (another) one ready to spoon onto my bike that should last until our trip next year.

All of the GSes in the family right now are wearing 230s.

It can only be done with xtra crispy.:-) It is coming along nice, Brandon. All I got done was the fork seals gsx1100g. No more puddles on the garage floor.

i gotta get seals for these too, and im gonna steal a stud from another set of forks i have since i broke the one. next on the list is the head gasket
im gonna order a set of 750 cams for it and deck the head while its apart to kinda hop it up a bit. then i want to track down a set of the seat trims

I'm not familiar with putting 750 cams in a 1000.

They're a little hotter. I think +4 duration on intake and +8 dur on the exhaust. Same lift. Degree it a little more aggressive than stock, should get a few extra hp. How much is debatable, but there are people who have done it and said they would do it again. Im thinking i want to do a 3 Angle valve job as well to aid in increasing air flow.
